Poets On Poetry

This program will be a consideration of artists who employ text and asemic drawing as their medium. We will investigate the transitional moments when the lyric becomes image and image becomes lyric.

A poet and artist, Sally Van Doren has published four poetry collections with LSU Press, most recently, Sibilance, which features her artwork on the cover. Her first book Sexat Noon Taxes received the Walt Whitman Award from the Academy of American Poets.  Having taught previously in the St. Louis Public Schools and the Unterberg Poetry Center in New York City, she leads monthly poetry workshops at the Scoville Memorial Library in Salisbury, Connecticut and works from her studio in West Cornwall.
